Message issue. I had no other option since the OEM harness is NLA for my year TT and there was no other option other than changing a whole bunch of parts along with doing a 5spd swap.

Nonetheless, it was a bit confusing trying to figure out what was wrong. At first I thought maybe the CEL bulb is out and after taking the gauge cluster apart I noticed that is not the case. I started looking back at the wiring harness and checking the white connector that I de-pinned. I took pictures, had a diagram drawn and marked the wires so I got everything back to way the harness came. I eventually ended up e-mailing DVDBURN asking him if maybe my gauge cluster took a dump and he directed me in doing some testing with a multi-meter. With his help I found out that the wire on the harness was swapped. Nonetheless, I e-mailed both Bernie and Wiring Speciaty and told them about the issue.

During this ordeal two things happened, my A/C pod housing fell apart from the age and I could not screw the pod back into the housing and I managed to break the white connector cover for the ECU connector. I asked if these two items could be replaced by them since I had to go and chase the issue down. Nonetheless, the pod housing was not replaced but I did receive a new connector cover.

I did not notice any other issues and I am not aware of the fuel temp sensor issue. I am assuming if that was also incorrect on my harness, I would have noticed by now or maybe the car would not start? Not sure but the CEL was the only thing I noticed.

Overall I am happy with the product, I was honestly out of options and they provided something that really helped me get rid of the old injectors. I figured the CEL wire swap was just a mistake that happened when the harness was assembled and since I was probaby one of the first orders it is to be expected. Quality wise the harness appeared pretty good, other than the aluminum heat wrap around the harness feeling a bit flimsy which I ended up just wrapping electrical tape over. I e-mailed Yury regarding wrapping the harness with electrical tape and he informed me that it shouldn't cause any issues so I continued covering the parts I felt I might damage during my install (I did the install with the engine in the car).

I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!" (Having a conversation about hail damage) - BradZ (FL) on March 25, 2005 at 9:56 PM

Tell your friend that you could take a dump, light it on fire and that would be hotter shit than his car. Probes suck, that's just all there is to it. - 300ZXpert (someday) on April 04, 2005 at 11:35 PM
